For supposedly being one of the world's smartest people, Elon Musk sure can be amazingly dumb at times.
I follow Musk on Twitter so I get to see both his interesting tweets about Space X, Tesla, and such, and his crazy tweets about things Musk obviously knows nothing about. Or does know about, and lies about them anyway.
Like, the war in Ukraine. Today I was astounded to see that Musk had replied to an obviously false tweet by Russian Market where it was claimed that thousands of NATO troops had died in Ukraine.
Yeah, Elon, it would indeed be a tragic loss of life if thousands of NATO soldiers had been killed in Ukraine. But actually there aren't any NATO soldiers in Ukraine, much less dying there. It's hard to believe you don't know this.
So I have to think that, like Trump, you've got a love affair going with Vladimir Putin, the Russian autocrat. David Frum called Musk out on his bullshit.
On the plus side, this tweet today shows that the support of the American public for Ukraine remains strong. So Musk is just part of a right-wing Russia-loving minority that prefers a dictator, Putin, over the democracy of Ukraine that Putin is trying to destroy.
We all have blind spots. But Elon Musk has an especially large blind spot when it comes to seeing disinformation in others, but not in himself. Truly astounding that on a day when Musk promulgated the false claim about NATO soldiers dying in Ukraine, he said this about the United Nations.
Look in the mirror, Elon, if you're trying to find the source of disinformation.
