Well, Brian, I liked your story which I could relate to. Your new red bike looks like it is a comfortable ride, due in part to the design of the handlebars, the upright seating position, and the larger, smoother road tires. Your bike shop and it's crew and customers also sound like a good positive place to visit.

I remember going in that shop to buy a drink from their cold case when we were eating at the food trucks nearby. I agree, bike stores are pleasant places to visit. I' m glad you got a new bike to tour that beautiful part of Oregon. And Laurel, always on the job!

The chain going past the sprockets issue is due to the derailleur needing adjustments on the limit screws. Look that up and hopefully that resolves that issue in case this is still an issue.
