« Why unaffiliated voters aren't treated dismally in closed primaries | Main | Trees to be saved in Salem's Roth & McGilchrist buildings renovation »

"You, me, and everyone else are billions of neurons woven together via trillions of electrochemical connections."...

...that can be seriously altered both individually, and by extension, collectively.

This doesn't mean voters made a mistake and marijuana should have stayed illegal. It just means marijuana may not be "safer" than other things like alcohol, tobacco and prescription drugs. What will the collective consciousness look like after a few generations of, potentially, millions more stoners on .26% THC marijuana? Remember, the average THC content of 1960's-early 70's weed was .06%. Will smacking ourselves on the head with a checkered sneaker like Spicolli in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" be the norm?

"Should caffeine be illegal because it alters my consciousness, increasing alertness and improving my mood?"

--I don't think there is any comparison between the level of "consciousness alteration" from drinking 200mg of caffeine and ingesting a Hi-Lo Gummy Bear containing 30mg THC.
