Here's another nail in the coffin of claims that Republicans are the "party of life." No, they're the party of death. Big time!
A RAND Corporation study says that expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) is the best financial option for states.
However, at least two dozen Republican-led states are planning to turn down this Medicaid expansion. After all, if Obama wants something, it must be bad, right? So thinks the addled Republican brain.
In this case, the addling isn't simply humorous -- as was the case with Michelle Bachmann's infamous babbling lies. (Thirteen straight PolitiFact ratings of Pants on Fire or False. What an idiot.)
No, now Republicans are going to kill 19,000 people a year by their absurd hatred of Obamacare. This isn't funny. Not funny at all.
Researchers also outline how failing to expand Medicaid could have more than financial consequences. Based on earlier research showing that past expansions of Medicaid has led to decreases in deaths, the study estimates that an additional 19,000 deaths could occur annually if the 14 states studied do not expand Medicaid.
Note the mention of 14 states.
It's entirely possible that more Republican-led states than that will throw a hissy-fit and forego billions of dollars of federal health care money, thereby preventing millions of insurance-less citizens from being added to Medicaid at little state expense.
Remember this when it comes time to vote in the next election. Voting Republican is really bad for people's health. And lives.
Republicans are poised to inflict the equivalent of at least six 9/11's on this country: 19,000 deaths. Not just once. Every year. This should be criminal. Sadly, it's just insane.
