Today's headline says it all: "Violence Rages in Iraq as Sunni Bloc Leaves Cabinet."
Um, wasn't the surge supposed to produce a quell in violence that would let the Iraqi government pursue national reconciliation?
We've got a fool for a commander-in-chief. Four US soldiers were killed yesterday because of Bush's idiocy. The madness has to stop.
With the Sunni withdrawl from government, it is clear that the country is becoming further divided and more evidence of heading towards a full scale civil war.
What we should have done, instead of moving to elections right away in order to show the world how our intention is to create a democratic Iraq, is to set up our own governing body and find a system that works, all while maintaining full control.
The Iraqi's are not ready for a complete democracy yet. When power is up for the taking, it is obvious what will happen. Maybe Joe Biden is right, we should split the country apart into various provinces.
