My concern is the buy now, pay later mindset our society and government lives by.

I recently heard that last year, our citizens spent more money on goods and services than they made, equating to a negative savings rate.

If we don't curb our spending habits, we're up shit creek sooner or later.

Great post, Brian. Don't forget this, though: http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=48751

Euros, instead of USDs. oh my! ... As Margo Channing said "Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night."

When I was studying in Trinidad during the spring of 2003, I had a Latin American Studies Prof. at the University of the West Indies who was convinced that the majority of the U.S.'s military and economic manuvering was to keep the oil market in dollars instead of euros. Pretty convincing arguement when you look at how Bush labeled Iraq, Iran, and N. Korea as the now infamous "Axis of Evil." N. Korea = Euros since 2002. Iraq = Euros shortly after. Iran = been considering a switch to Euros for the last 4 years.
