Here's a September 3 story in The Economic Times about an investigation by the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police into financial transactions involving Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the guru of Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB), and other members of the Dhillon family.
lt's good to see that allegations made by Malvinder Singh, a relative of the guru, are being looked into. A RSSB book is titled "Honest Living." The Dhillon family tax returns and other documents requested by the Delhi Police will cast light on how honestly the guru has been living.

Businessman Malvinder Singh had earlier filed a complaint against the spiritual guru Gurinder Singh Dhillon, and his family members, with EOW for allegedly siphoning off proceeds from the sale of Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd.
The Economic Offences Wing (EoW) of the Delhi Police has sought details from the head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas Gurinder Singh Dhillon and his family members regarding the multi crore scam.
Businessman Malvinder Singh had earlier filed a complaint against the spiritual guru Gurinder Singh Dhillon, and his family members, with EOW for allegedly siphoning off proceeds from the sale of Ranbaxy Laboratories NSE 5.63 % Ltd.
He had also filed an affidavit last month in the court detailing transaction history of the loans transferred to the Dhillon family from 2006 onwards, along with the supporting Bank Statement showing such transactions.
The summons were issued by the EoW basis a FIR filed by the Religare Finvest.
The EoW in its summons dated Aug 26 has asked Dhillon to explain why the amount was transferred to him and his wife’s personal account from various entities. Dhillon has been asked to provide documents to show how these transactions in his income tax returns. “It was a loan transaction or otherwise,” the notice said.
“For the purposes of investigation, you are requested to provide documents,” it further said. Information has been sought regarding over Rs 26 crore which were transferred to him and his wife Shabnam Dhillon. Dhillons have been told to furnish details by September 7. An email sent to Dhillon did not elicit any response till the press time.
The Dhillons are among 55 individuals and entities ordered by the court to pay over Rs 6000 crore owed to RHC holding in connection with the settlement of a dispute to Daiichi Sankyo’s acquisition of Ranbaxy laboratories.
Earlier in the High Court, Dhillon had said that in 2010, RHC holdings Ltd through Singh brothers had approached him to assist them in subscribing for the rights issue, suggesting that they would finance Dhillons to subscribe to the rights issue. Dhillon has said that it was agreed that he and his family members would not be made liable to repay any amount or interest. “It was also agreed that upon the shares being sold or disposed of if the price realised was below the subscribed price, then the entire amount would be shared 50:50 between RHC and Dhillons family who had subscribed to the shares”.
He had further said that on the basis of “verbal agreement” in February 2010, RHC transferred Rs 219 crore each to his sons, which was then used to subscribe to the rights issue, resulting in an allotment of 61,83,013 shares of REL to each of his sons.
In a separate notice to his sons Gurpreet and Gurkirat Dhillon, the EoW has now asked both Gurpreet and Gurkirat to clarify how the transaction “was reflected in their income tax returns, whether the amount is loan from the RHC holding pvt Ltd or otherwise and what is the present status of these shares,” it said. ET has seen the copy of the notices.
The EoW has also asked the Dhillon brothers to explain the reason for transferring the money from their personal account to RHC holding. Both brothers have been asked to appear in person and file the reply by September 7.
In an affidavit filed in the Delhi High court last week, Singh had submitted that Dhillon and his family members owed Rs 1472.72 crores along with interest which is still outstanding.
He has further said that over the period of 2006-2010, a sum of over Rs 500 crores was directly transferred from his accounts to Dhillon and his family members.
In addition, between 2011-2016 approximately Rs 488.83 crores were advanced as loans to Dhillon and his family members from the companies of Best group, which at the time of advancement of loans were not subsidiaries of Singh. The Best group comprised of Best healthcare Pvt Ltd, Modland wears private Ltd, Fern healthcare private Ltd, Devera developers private Ltd, greenline buildwell Private Ltd and Adept Lifespace pvt Ltd.
“The monies received from the Best group was camouflaged by Dhillon and his family members to appear as if they were clearing their debt towards answering respondent and its subsidiaries with a view to window dress and attempt to show that there is no amount receivable from Dhillon and members of his family to the answering respondent,” the affidavit has said. ET has seen the copy of the affidavit.
Guilty or not. This should be an eyeopener for all these RSSB followers. Is this living a moral life? Sending crores to your family members while half of india starves. Pathetic. Almost like the trump of india.

Gurinder dhillion has been exposed again and his acting career is finally over, you can drop the act now. He is nothing more than a self proclaimed selfish manipulating weak god man with ulterior motives in mind and no human values whatsoever. Scotland Yard and the CBI needs to fully investigate the suspicious circumstances leading to the mysterious death of his wife Shabnam Dhillion.This Fraud case of the Missing Millions of Malvinder would be a perfect case for the Rebuplic T.Vs host Arnab Goswami he would tear GSD apart in no time and expose the truth to the world to behold. Don’t think there is enough evidence to arrest GSD...Malvinder gave this money to GSD and family. At best, GSD will be asked to return the money back which he will if faced with jail time but there is no criminal allegation against GSD that can get him arrested. What do you guys think?

Gurinder the shy dhillan has all the money in his account, and he even admits to it. I don't call this honest living - the fraudster is living a billionaire life style traveling in private jets while poor sangat walk for miles, to donate everything they have to the dera. Hes a crook disguised as a guru to fool the masses. Hes now summoned to Dehli high court as they obviously see suspicious activity. Why doesnt he go and prove his innocence? And for gods sake pay your taxes like everyone else does, or have you something to hide?

RSSB is not a small organisation, before taking money they must have calculated all the combinations and way to bust the combinations. Last resort - to return the money. It can do that also.

Regarding investigations by the Delhi Police or complaints or proof of wrongdoings etc. by Malvinder, or summons issued by the court would only create noise.
This is a normal process and Baba and his team are very capable of handling these issues. Normally these cases go on for decades without any conclusion and then would be filed after the death of the persons involved in them, if it is not different this time.
One thing is very clear that Baba Gurinder has wiped out Charans family from RSSB and the next probable successor to the throne would be from Dhillons family.

I’m not deluded. I don’t think GSD is perfect. He makes mistakes just like the rest of us. He couldn’t have cancer or diabetes if he didn’t have karma. He’s no different from the rest of us other than he’s playing a role that Charan assigned to him.
I’m just saying there are things about that I like and things I don’t agree with but I don’t think he’s a criminal mastermind.
I’ve been back and forth on this whole scandal thing. I honestly don’t know who did what. Clearly mistakes were made in judgement. Perhaps not going into business with people who have a long history of criminal activity would have been a good start. Regardless, his family and his financial problems really don’t have anything to do with us.
I’m not against Sant Mat. I don’t subscribe to a lot of its teachings, but some of the teachings resonate. I don’t hate RSSB. They’re really no different than most well organized religions. Most of the people mean well and try to live a good life. That’s commendable.
I don’t care how much the teachings have changed or not. I don’t believe in half of it. However, there are certain teachings I do agree with. A lot of what I learned from Sant Mat/RSSB got me to where I am now.
Even if he was guilty, how does that affect me personally? I’ve just simply decided not to personalize this anymore.

Karma isn’t all “mystical”. It just means we suffer from limited perception. Sometimes we take on too much and we get sick. Sometimes we inadvertently hurt others feelings and get a strong reaction. Sometimes we intentionally attack others and the effect of that comes right back to us in some form. Karma is just cause and effect, but I don’t believe in the “exactness” of it. I’m not even sure what that means, “a seed in a neighbors field”. Please, I can’t even...
I think we make ourselves sick at some level when we try to be judge and jury of someone or something when we have no personal involvement or intimate understanding of the situation. If we were personally involved in this then sure, judge away.
If you’re an ex-satsangi why should you care? Why hold on? Why does it matter to us. It’s like breaking up with someone and 15 years later you’re still complaining about your ex. It takes time to get over a break-up, but if I’m complaining about it 15 years from now, then I need help.
This isn’t the President of the US where his actions actually do effect our lives. This is a situation that has no baring on any of us personally.
I’m 100% certain no court would allow any of us here to be jurors on this case.

When I read about Gurinder's problems I wonder why ex-satsangis even care. Why does it even matter anymore. Okay I understand this is Brian's blog and he likes to share any news about the Dera and in many ways this blog has changed my mind and made a huge difference in my thoughts and understandings and I appreciate it very much.

Yes, curiosity is an effective remedy to boredom. But at the end of the day I think we’re all ruled by our emotions whether we want to believe it or not. People either surround themselves with other people who already think the way they do, OR they eventually start thinking like the people they’re around.
We’re not truly objective as human beings. Close relationships cannot be truly transactional. Look at marriage—an arranged marriage is a transactional almost business type of relationship that is supposed to work because there’s less emotion. But that’s BS. It doesn’t matter what your motivation is for being with someone because either way you’re both going to end up making huge compromises that ultimately have an affect on the way you perceive the world. And the reason we make those compromises is to preserve our sanity.
When we’re in a room by ourselves we can think critically. When we’re with other people we can try to think critically and it will work for a while but eventually both will be affected by the other person’s opinions, ideas and beliefs.
Gurinder’s relationship with his nephews was transactional—I’m sure it made logical sense to do business with family. In that culture going into business with family is considered very practical decision. But eventually it blew up because people are innately irrational.

From my perspective, most of my dad’s family are ardent, overly zealous RS believers and, me, believing in live & let live, married a RS believer from a more moderate RS family
To me, it’s absolutely obvious that Ram Rahim, Sai Baba & this Buffon GSD are nothing more than conmen, and the sooner their exposed for the nasty, greedy criminals they are, the better for ALL of society
I am just waiting for the day that GSD is banged up so I can go on a Ludoo round, to my relatives houses and remind them of their RS-inspired snobbery

So true. This is probably why I spend so much time on my own. I want to just be the observer. But, the mind never stops. Watching and thinking all the time about what is this world? Why am I here? What happens after death? I try to meditate and just fall asleep. In Sant Mat we are told the mind is Kal, the negative power. Is there a higher power than Kal? There is no answer. There is no proof. There are only queries and we believe what we want to believe in.

Somewhere in Santmat books I read of a teacher journeying in one of the so called VOIDS and finding no end to it returned from his journey.
Something the like did happen with my understanding of the Internet. Surfing had become a great pleasure, whatever i was interested in, was to be found. Then it suddenly became clear that there was "no end to what could be known" and with it the realization "that i was not born to know everything that can be known on the Internet".
Later it became clear that what holds for the internet holds for many other things especially things related to thoughts about the meaning of life etc.
The next step was the understanding that much what is in my mind has come there as it was put before it without my asking .... the education by parents and schools combined with the desire to be normal like all others. The understanding that there is a difference between stilling hunger and satisfying appetite.
That there was very little in my mind that found its origin there.
During that process it became clear that in never had an calling for religious matters, that there was never an "pull from within" and that if nobody had ever spoken to me about God, inner worlds and experiences, i would never have known about it.
So little by little I try to declutter my mind and keep there like that Japanese lady advises only those things that are natural and pleasant.
So I am not born to be and achieve what OTHERS say that life is all for, no need to walk in THEIR shoes, go where they go and with that understanding much of what you wrote "The key critical thinking skills are: analysis, interpretation, inference, explanation, self-regulation, open-mindedness, and problem-solving." .... just ends

Over the years if found that the sayings of MCS used in a particular situation could easily and successfully transfered to other situations he never addressed.
So, the story of a teacher telling his student, to visit him each and everyday and after objecting by the student that he was not able to do so, told him in the end to visit him at least once a year.
That reasoning, advice can also be used for all sorts of situations .... even holidays .... if one has not the possibility to go three times a year due to circumstances, one can go twice, or once and even just one day.
So the word "Internet" can easily be replaced biy, words like religion, meditation techniques, spiritual teachers etc etc.
Or in short ...I was not born to drink in and make to my own whatever the culture I was born in had to offer ... let alone what other cultures have to offer.
That realization sets one free in a sense .... to find out what it means to live a natural life in a natural way.
Hope there will be time enough .... that it is not to late to find out.
