The good thing about being a member of Misanthropes Anonymous is that there are no meetings to attend.

Nice article. I like the 'spillover' idea - you're not using words to communicate something directly, but watching how the sparks fly out of your swinging cauldron and land in the brush. Perhaps every now and then one of them catches fire.

This is related to how I feel the urge to communicate operates. The urge is the flow within you that 'knows' what it's trying to say, and the words follow somewhat behind, trailing out like those sparks. The words have to connect with both the urge and the audience and sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. But it's a mistake to concentrate too much on the words rather than the urge itself. The urge modifies itself to suit the circumstances - you just have to let it do its thang.
