If you want to better understand the distinction between our experiencing self, and our remembering self, including how happiness is related to these aspects of us, spend twenty minutes watching a TED video of Kaneman explaining this stuff.

The Ted video locked up my computer for some reason.

Eventually in rapid and untraceable digestion of pure experience, we RE-MEMBER experiences gathered by this the pristine venue and try creating an immortal self. Isis re-member-ed Osiris. The first magic, a re-membered self? Now comes the problem of immortality.
