As a...<p>Yes it came as somewhat of a shock to me to realize that RSB was a religious institution. As a religious institution it is obligated to perpetuate itself. It can't do that unless it has firm Articles of Faith. Designated Preachers are obligated to repeat these Articles of Faith (altered only by modestly done bedeckings) not question fundamentals. Of course satsangi's might claim that these are only temporary assumptions for the meditation experiment--- and not really religious Articles of Faith. But the line between the two is pretty thin and if one is not careful they can fall headlong into being a religious asshole.</p>
